💔 Imagine being just 6 years old, waking at 4am for Fajr, devoting your day to memorising the Qur’an and studying Islam, yet not having a suitable place to sleep at night.
At the Seven Jurists Institute in The Gambia, 265 children study Qur’an and Islamic sciences. New dormitories are being built to provide safe accommodation for 60 children, including 9 orphans.
The project is overseen by graduates of the Islamic University of Madinah and by Ustadh Abu Sulayman Sajjad, who many of us know locally from Burnley and who has been involved with the project for several years.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“When a person dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, or beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who will pray for him.”
